Application Eligibility

You must have specific qualifications to apply for the NU Degree (Pass) program.

• Bangladeshi Education Boards: You must pass SSC/Equivalent in 2020, 2021, or 2022. You must ALSO pass HSC/Equivalent in 2022, 2023, or 2024.
• Technical Education Board: Students from the Technical Board with HSC (Vocational), HSC (Business Management & Technology), or Diploma-in-Commerce can also apply. The same passing years apply to you.
• O-Level / A-Level:
  • O-Level: You need to pass at least four subjects. You must have a ‘B’ grade in three of them. (Passing years: 2020, 2021, or 2022).

Merit List Calculation

Here is how the merit list is calculated:

• Primary Method: The merit list for each college is made based on your SSC and HSC GPA.
• Tie-Breaker: What if two or more students have the same GPA? The merit order is decided using these steps:
  1. First, NU checks: (40% of SSC GPA) + (60% of HSC GPA).
  2. If still tied, NU checks: (40% of total marks in SSC) + (60% of total marks in HSC).
  3. If there is still a tie, the student with the younger age will get priority.
