BUET Admission 2025-26: Eligible List and Admit Card

The BUET Admission 2025-26 circular is out! BUET has posted the rules for the 2025-2026 session. This is a great chance for students. You can study engineering and architecture at Bangladesh’s top university.

There are two groups for the admission test. Group “Ka” is for Engineering and Urban & Regional Planning (URP). Group “Kha” is for Engineering, URP, and Architecture. Applications will start soon. This article gives you all details for the BUET Admission 2025-2026 process.

BUET Admission Circular 2025-26

Admission Test Date

The BUET admission test is on one day. The schedule is different for Group “Ka” and Group “Kha”.

Exam Centers: The test is at the BUET campus in Dhaka. Your Admit Card will show your exact center, building, and room number.

Required Qualification

You must have certain academic results to apply for the BUET admission test 2025-2026.

For HSC / Alim Candidates

  • SSC Pass Year: You must have passed your SSC (or equivalent) exam in 2022 or 2023.
  • HSC Pass Year: You must have passed your HSC (or equivalent) exam in 2025.
  • Exception: Students who passed SSC in 2022 and HSC in 2024 can apply. This is only if their revised HSC result was published after 14 December 2024.
  • SSC GPA: You need a minimum GPA of 4.00 out of 5.00.
  • HSC GPA: You need a minimum GPA of 5.00 out of 5.00.
  • HSC Subject GPA: You must have a GP 5.00 in Higher Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. You need this grade in each subject.

BUET will select the top 10,000 applicants for the test. This list is based on your total marks in HSC Higher Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

For GCE (O & A Level) Candidates

  • “O” Level: Must pass in November 2021 or later. You need a minimum ‘B’ grade in 5 subjects. These must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
  • “A” Level: Must pass in November 2024 or later. You need at least two ‘A’ grades and one ‘B’ grade. These grades must be in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

BUET will select the top 300 GCE applicants for the test. This is based on their grades.

Important Note: If you took the BUET admission test before, you cannot apply this year.

How to Apply

You must apply online. Follow these steps carefully.

  • STEP 1: Fill Online Form: Go to the BUET admission website (www.buet.ac.bd). Fill out the application form with your information.
  • STEP 2: Upload Photo and Signature: You must upload a recent passport-size color photo. It needs a white background (max 75 KB). You must also upload your signature (max 20 KB).
  • STEP 3: Submit and Get Serial No.: Check all your information. Then submit the form. You will get a 5-digit Application Serial No. Download and print this “Receipt of Application” PDF.
  • STEP 4: Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee. Use mobile or online banking. The website will give clear payment instructions.
  • STEP 5: Get Money Receipt: After you pay, log in again. Download the “Money Receipt”.
  • STEP 6: Final Submit: Click the “Final Submit” button. This is the last step. Your application is not complete without it.

For E, T, S, or R Applicants: If your receipt has an E, T, S, or R mark, you must do more. Print the full application form. Submit it with your mark sheets and other papers. Take them to the Registrar’s Office by 4 December 2025.

Eligible List

After applications close, BUET will post a list. This list shows who can take the admission test.

Admit Card Download

Only students on the eligible list can get an admit card.

  • Download Date: Starts after the eligible list is published (after 17 December 2025).
  • How to Download:
    1. First, log in to the admission website. You must fill out the “Option Form”.
    2. Here, you will choose the departments you want.
    3. Be very careful! You cannot change this department choice later.
    4. After you submit the Option Form, you can download your Admit Card PDF.
    5. You must bring a printed copy of the Admit Card to the exam hall.

Seat Plan

Your admit card shows your exam center and room number. BUET might also post a separate seat plan.

  • Seat Plan Date: The seat plan is on your admit card. BUET may also post it 1-2 days before the test.

Marks Distribution

The admission test is a written exam. It is not MCQ. The questions follow the 2025 HSC syllabus.

Group “Ka” (Engineering and URP)

  • Total Marks: 600
  • Total Time: 3 Hours
  • Subjects (Module A):
    • Higher Mathematics: 20 questions (10 marks each)
    • Physics: 20 questions (10 marks each)
    • Chemistry: 20 questions (10 marks each)

Group “Kha” (Engineering, URP, and Architecture)

  • Total Marks: 1000
  • Module A (Time: 3 Hours):
    • Same as Group “Ka” (Higher Math, Physics, Chemistry)
    • Total Marks: 600
  • Module B (Time: 1 Hour 30 Minutes):
    • Total Marks: 400
    • Freehand Drawing: 3 questions (112 marks each)
    • Visual-Spatial Intelligence: 4 questions (16 marks each)

Important Rules:

  • You must use a 2B pencil for freehand drawing.
  • You can only bring a pen, pencil, eraser, and sharpener. You can also bring approved calculators. The circular has a list of these calculators (Appendix-Ka).
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, geometry boxes, and bags are not allowed in the exam hall.

Admission Result

After the test, BUET will post the final result. This includes a merit list and a waiting list.

Final Admission

If you are on the selected list, follow these steps. This is for your final admission.

  1. Report on the Right Date: BUET will give you a date. You must show up on that date.
  2. Bring Original Documents: You must bring your original SSC and HSC mark sheets and certificates.
  3. Submit Health Report: Download the ‘Medical Screening Form’ from the website. A registered doctor must fill it out for you.
  4. Pay Admission Fee: BUET will check your papers and health report. After they are verified, you must pay the final admission fee. You must pay on the same day to get your seat.
